Stillwater truly shines during the holiday season — and there’s no better example of that magic than the annual Twinkle Party & Tree Lighting, happening Saturday, December 6th from 4:30–6:30 PM in Chestnut Street Plaza.

This cherished community event is part of the Hometown for the Holidays series and brings together families, neighbors, and visitors for an unforgettable evening of holiday cheer — and giving.

    🎁 Celebrate & Give Back

This event is proudly presented by Community Thread, and I encourage everyone attending to bring a new, unwrapped toy for their Holiday Hope Program. These generous donations go directly to deserving Stillwater-area families — helping make the season brighter for those who need it most.

As someone who has proudly volunteered with this event for years, I’ve seen firsthand how meaningful your contributions are. It’s a small gesture with a huge impact.

🎄 What to Expect at the Twinkle Party

From the moment you arrive, the holiday spirit is alive:

•Free Light-Up Necklaces for kids (while supplies last)

•Hot Apple Cider from Aamodt’s Apple Farm

•Delicious Cookies provided by Cub Foods

•Appearances by Elsa & Olaf for magical meet-and-greets

•Victorian Carolers filling the air with classic Christmas cheer

•Santa & Mrs. Claus arriving in style on a fully decorated Stillwater Fire Truck!

•A special holiday message from Mayor Ted Kozlowski

•The Lighting of the Enormous Christmas Tree, generously donated by Aamodt’s

•A jaw-dropping Fireworks Grand Finale to light up the sky

    🛍️ Support Local This Season

It’s been deeply rewarding to witness the downtown Stillwater businesses coming together to support this event. Their contributions make Hometown for the Holidays a success — so if you’re downtown, please shop local, grab a bite, or simply share a thank-you with our local shopkeepers.

These businesses are the heart of our town, and their involvement ensures events like this are warm, welcoming, and filled with joy.

💫 Let’s Make It Special Together

Whether you’re a lifelong Stillwater local like myself or just discovering the charm of our river town, this event is something you don’t want to miss. The Twinkle Party isn’t just a celebration — it’s a beautiful example of what makes Stillwater such a special place to call home.

I hope to see you there — twinkle lights shining, cocoa in hand, and hearts full of joy.

    Warmest wishes,
